I'm doing good here in Chile. We actually had 3 miracles this last Saturday. We had 3 baptisms which for me were all miracles, because there were 2 kids whose father has problems with the word of wisdom, their mom doesn´t live with them, and their other brother has been diagnosed with cancer and and may die within 3 months. And yet, when they chose to get baptised I could see they knew that even with all these problems that the Lord is going to bless them throughout all their lives.
The other baptism was a girl that kind of grew up in the church, but didn´t get baptized till she was 9. She is really smart and I know she is going to be a very good leader one day. She even invited all of her friends to her baptism even when they thought she was weird for getting baptized. She is a very strong member and will be an amazing example.
It´s just really cool to watch people´s lives change to know the blessings of the true gospel. I am so glad I have this time to serve and bring others unto Christ. I would ask that you pray for my investigators and anyone who is in need. Thanks for all the help. I love you guys tons.
Love, Elder Hirschi Answers:
1. When are the next transfers? Do you think you will be transferred next time?
In 2 weeks we should have transfers. I do think I will be transferred, but there is a chance that I will stay one more time!
2. Have there been any holidays or birthdays or ward parties there you have been to lately?
We have not had very many parties, but we did have an "Open Church" (Like an open house).
3. What is the fashion like there? Do most people wear regular clothes? Do many people wear name brand clothes or clothes that reflect the culture there?
Clothes are so cheap, but most of the clothes here have already been used. People sell them like garage sale.
4. How are your investigators doing?
They are doing good. We had 3 baptisms and plan on having 1 or 2 more this week if everything goes well.
5. Have you ate anything different lately that you like? Do they have many juices there, if so what kind do you like?
I ate SUBWAY haha. No I have eaten lots of different things, but nothing to strange, I had a part of an octopus the other day. It just tasted like seaweed smell with strange fish texture. They have a ton of peaches here, and lots of peach juice. I like the peach juice.
6. What are the youth like in your ward there? Are there very many?
It´s just an estaka, but we are very small like 50-60 people.
7. What is your bedding like? Do you have plenty to stay warm at nights?
Mom... I am doing fine, but thanks for being worried for me.
