Hey Family

What´s up everyone?  I started writing in English and then I switched to Spanish like 20 times during my emails today so if anything is in Spanish me van a disculpar jaja (you´re going to have to forgive me haha).  Oh man we are doing good. We are working hard in Iquique still. We have an investigator that´s name is Julisa. She wanted to get baptized like a month ago but her dad wouldn´t let her.  Now we talked to him and he said that everything is ok!  So next week we will finally get to baptize Julisa TA TA!

I hope everyone had an awesome Valentines Day. I know I didn´t haha j/k.  No it was alright it´s just a lot different in the mission field. You never really celebrate you just see people celebrating.

Anyway I hope you all are doing well.  Everyone take care!  Alli Estamos (missionary finger tap * 2)

1.  Did you eat any chocolate or do anything for Valentine’s day?
No but one of the members from Bolivia bought us a red sucker haha.  I guess that was the only thing we did for Valentines!

2. Do you remember Elder Kyle Roundy from there in Iquique?
ELDER ROUNDY IS YOUR COUSIN??!!!!  Well that´s a shock. Yeah I did get to meet him. He is a really cool guy. He actually helped me baptize one of my converts named Rodrigo.  Tell Elder Roundy I said hi, and that Rodrigo is doing well!

3.  How are your investigators doing?
Pretty good. We need to find more people, because they are all starting to become members haha.

Happy Valentines Day

Inline image 1

Hello family!  I don't know if I have made an error yet, but I'm starting to lose my English again haha.  We only have 5 people from the United States in my zone, and all of them like to talk in Spanish so I've been developing my Spanish better now haha.  I actually really like speaking in only Spanish again because I spoke more English than I should have with my other companions, and I actually really like the language.

Anyways to the point, this week was another week of miracles. We had 11 investigators over the age of 8  that went to church and 15 people that went to church because of our efforts.  It's a miracle that we can't take any credit for. I have a firm testimony that if God wasn't working with us, it would have been impossible to do something like that.  I am so grateful that my father in heaven is watching over me, especially in this time that I am training.

Elder Llamas is incredible. He bares his testimony so well, and I love the attitude of the new missionaries.  Not to say that I'm that old, but after awhile you start to fall into a routine of just trying to get numbers or teaching lessons in a certain way. Every time when Elder Llamas teaches it always leaves me dumbfounded.  I hope I can get back to that stage of loving the people so much that you just testify with all your might.

I hope everyone has an awesome Valentines day.  Congratulations Talia 💍that's awesome, I wish you the best of luck!  I love you all and miss you tons!  Take care.

Love,
Elder Hirschi

Will the Chileans be celebrating Valentine's this week?

I don't know I hope they celebrate it this week, if not it could be the next one... haha Just kidding, yeah it's the same day for them too haha.  I love ya mom!
2. How is your new companion liking Iquique?

I have got to admit he is a beast. We have been walking around a lot and he complains less than me haha.  He was born in the south of Argentina, which is realllllllllllllly cold, and now he is here in Iquique and it's realllllllllllllly hot.  So I hope he can get used to the weather without any problems.

I picked up my new missionary companion this week, drum roll please....

He´s an ARGENTINO!!!  His name is Elder Llamas and he is super cool.  He is a little bit shy, but he has all the traits that he needs for right now.  He is humble and willing to work!  That´s what I´m talking about.  I know he is going to be an awesome missionary.  He actually is very similar of the missionary that I was when I first got here in Chile, except that he can actually speak Spanish haha.  Anyways I hope that we have a really good training together and that we can get a lot of work done.

More good news, we got another baptism this week, which was super cool.  Actually it was the cousin of Abril (April), her name is Janet.  She is way cool and I really hope that we can keep baptizing the rest of their family so they can endure to the end together!

We also went to look at a boat called the Esmeralda. It´s very famous in Chile, I will put some pictures. Anyways, love you all tons, thanks for all prayers and help that you give me.  I hope you are all doing well, and pray that you will all be safe.  Take care!

2. How was it travelling to pick up your new companion?
Ohh man, it was reallllllllly tiring haha.  But it was also cool to see some missionaries I haven´t seen in awhile.  Also I did get to pass through Mejillones for like 2 minutes in a bus!  That was cool!

3. Who are some of the new people you have met there?
We have met a cool new person named Paula she went to church and her friend is a very strong convert of Bolivia named Veronika.

4. Who is the other new missionary in your apartment? What is he like?
Elder Vilca is a Peruano, and he is super cool.  There are lots of Latinos in our new zone, and only 5 that are from the States!
