Hello mi familia

logan mission pic hats.jpg

Hey Family!  In church this week I learned a valuable lesson. God can take his time, but he always comes through for the faithful.  They talked about how Jesus waited many days before he want to heal Lazarus and they even said if he had been there sooner Lazarus wouldn`t be dead.  But Jesus wanted to prove a point, that it doesn`t matter how long it takes for God. It doesn`t matter how difficult it seems, because God can do it but in his own time.  I learned that the hard way.

Because the last 3 weeks were rough for me, but this week was 100000 times better then the last few weeks!  We had some cool people go to church and we found a really cool guy that really wants to be baptized with his daughter in 2 weeks!  God does miracles for those that have patience.

We also got to see D Todd Christofferson this week and that was really cool that I got the chance before I left to hear from him.  It was a really good conference and I learned a lot. I wish I had more time to use what I learned but I guess I can apply it in my life back home!

I love the missionary work. I am so glad that I am going to come home and see you guys but I know that I am going to miss all the good times out here and that I won`t be able to get this time back.  I want to serve these last two weeks hard to show the Lord how much I love him. Please pray for Fidel and Estrella his daughter that they can be baptized.  I hope you all know how much I love and miss everyone of you!  Take care and I will talk to you all next week!

Love,
Elder Hirschi

Hey Guys 3 Weeks Left!!

115_1411.JPG

Wow I can´t believe that I made it to the 3 week mark. I feel like yesterday mom sent me a package for the hump day 1 year mark with Elder Taylor!  It feels so weird to be finishing the mission. I know that I am going to keep working hard until the last day but it just feels strange.

We didn´t have the best week ever, but like I said last week was so bad that this week was a lot better!  It was pretty much a normal week. We taught a whole bunch of people and we got 42 new people to teach this week!  That was a huge blessing I hope they will all go to church this Sunday!

Anyways I love you all tons take care and don´t forget to read and pray everyday of the week!

Elder Hirschi

Anyways I hope that you are doing well and I invite you all to read the book of Mormon and pray daily as our beloved Prophet has asked of us.  I love you all and I miss you tons!  Nos vemos!

Wow this week was super hyped and then it sort of fell through.  Elder Coleman and I have been working hard this week!  Beyond hard we have working so much.  We talked to everyone and invited everyone to church. I have almost never been this tired before on the mission (or maybe I`m just getting old haha).  But we worked so hard and we even called everyone to check if they were going to come to church.  Sadly we only had 1 investigator in church and everyone canceled on us :(.

This week is going to be a very good week though because we have a conference with President.  We are going to have to work hard so that God will bless us with a miracle.  I hope the brother that came to church is willing to be baptized. We are going to have to teach him a little more.

I love you all and thank you for everything that you do for me I miss ya tons!  Take care and I will talk to you next week.  Chau!

Well we had transfers this week and it looks like I got sent to... drum roll please!  IQUIQUE again haha! That`s right I`m back in Iquique, which is like 10 minutes from Alto Hospicio, in a ward that`s called Reborn or Renacimiento in Spanish.  It looks like God wants me to be reborn this last transfer and work as hard as I can to find new people to teach!

I`m with a cool new companion his name is Elder Coleman, but I call him Elder Coolman haha.  He is a very good missionary and wants to work hard to bring others unto Christ.

Sounds like everyone's doing well back home, and that you had a fun family reunion this year.  I wish that I could have been there, but I will be there soon enough haha.  Anyways I have to go, but I love you all and miss ya tons!  Take care.

Noche Blanca

DSC00129.JPG

We had an awesome week this week!. We had something that is called a noche blanca (white night).  Where all the people that are going to get baptized on Saturday go to the same service so that it can be a little bit more special.  ANGEL got baptized!  Wow thanks so much for your prayers and all that you guys have done I know that through our efforts God, blessed us and made it possible that Angel could get baptized!

Now we have to find more people that are getting ready to be baptised, because a lot of our investigators don´t want to go to church haha.  Lets see if we can find a way to help them go to church!

Also we got to see the opening of a mission call of someone from our Branch. His name is Juan Pablo!  He is super cool!  He is going to Buenos Aires Argentina and he is going to be a very good missionary.

Thanks for everything you guys do I miss ya tons!  I hope you are all doing well!  Stay safe and I will talk to ya next week.

Hello Familia

logan mission pic2.jpg
Sorry I also don´t have any time this week!  It´s crazy how much stuff I want to say but there´s just no time!  I have to write a lot of people still so I hope you can all forgive me!

We had an alright week!  Elder Flores is a beast. He talks with everyone and teaches with the spirit.  Sadly Angel doesn´t want to get baptized so we are still working with him, but we have to pass by less and less.  But we have a really cool investigator named Felipe and he is going to be baptized soon, ojala (hopefully).

Anyways pray for him and that we can find new people to teach, and I invite you all to spread the gospel and invite other people to the church because it can bring lots of joy and many blessings.  I love you all. Take care and have a good week!

Elder Hirschi

3.  How was the conference with the mission president?
It was really good, I liked what the mission president's wife said, that we have to be a missionary with high expectations and have lots of love for the people!

Logan mission pic 7.23.18.JPG

Wow we had a very good week. It was awesome.  Mom asked if I had been learning any new Mexican dialect with my new Mexican companion, but the only phrase that I have learned, my dad already taught me haha: You need hammer? No but Elder Flores is a very cool missionary, he is very spiritual and he also works hard.

I am doing very well even though I got sick for a few days. I feel a lot better now and I am working full on getting the Lords work done!  I had a fever and I felt really weak for 1 day and my throat was hurting a lot.  I didn´t get a blessing, but I did rest for a little while after lunch, I was going to ask for a blessing after, but I felt better right before we left to work.

I love you all and miss you tons I hope you are doing well.  I will talk to you next week but I hope you are all doing well!  Take care!

Heeeeelllo my beloved family.  I wanna give a shout out to my papa and his Birthday so if someone could do me a favor and go bug him about it and give him a hug for me it would be very appreciated thank you!

Well we got the transfers this week, and it looks like God wants me to get used to Mexican Spanish for when I get home, because he sent me a new companion from Mexico.  His name is Elder Flores and he is pure fire!  He is super cool and wants to work hard in our sector.  I have 2 more transfers to talk to everyone and teach them about our Savior Jesus Christ. I don´t know where all the time went, but I´m going to work my butt off these next few months!

Thanks for all your prayers and for all the support I really have felt blessed almost everyday of my mission.  Thanks for all that you guys do and for all the emails it really means a lot to me!  Anyways I love you all take care!

Yep we got transfers I am with a Mexican AY AY AY!  He even knows how to play guitar, so I think we are going to start a mariachi band haha.

2. How are your investigators doing?
Well considering that we don´t have very many at this point, we are going to be looking for lots of references this week!

3. Does your papito ever let you play his guitar?
Actually we have 2 guitars in our apartment. 1 of the guitars is from a member and we are going to give it back and the other is from an Elder that finished his mission, and he left it here.  But papito also has a guitar and yes he has let me play it!

Rain

IMG_0403.JPG

Oh man everyone wrote me saying that they need some rain because it hasn´t rained for a little while.  Then I thought about it awhile, and realized that I haven´t seen rain in about 2 years haha.  So don´t worry my family I know how you all feel haha, but still I will pray so that we can have some rain in Utah, and if I have enough faith who knows it might just happen today haha.

This week was just about as normal as it can get, we just walked for about a billion hours and there was no one in the street  but there´s always this week.  It wasn´t all bad though we got to talk to almost all of our converts and they are all doing well.  We did also have a conference for the district like last week and I got to see Elder Norambuena. He is the 70 of south America south.  And I actually got to eat with him a few times in Copiapo because he was part of my first ward which was really cool. I will send a photo of us.

We went to the beach today and played football (soccer) and a little bit of football Americano (Normal Football in the states). It was fun, but an Elder from my district got hurt his name is Elder Potter yes like Harry Potter haha jk.  But seriously he got cut pretty deep by an iron rebar that was sticking out of the sand a little bit .  I hope you can all pray for him because he is really worried about it and he wants to keep working hard in his sector.  He is in the hospital and we all hope that he is doing well.

Thanks for everything my loving family. I will write you next week and I hope you are all doing well.  I love you and miss you all, take care!

Crazy Weeks

115_1240.JPG

Wow these last 2 weeks have been really hard, because I had so much to do and I didn´t have time to write.  So I really hope that you can all forgive me for not writing to some of you.  Especially my familiy I hope you all know that I love your emails and I love writing but it can be hard sometimes, with all the people that write me.  I pray for all of you and I think of you guys everyday, I miss you all tons!

Wow this week was loaded with stuff as well.  First of all I went to Antofagasta for a leadership conference, as I like to say it was pretty dece.  I got to see every single missionary that got to Chile with me and I also got to say hi to Elder Butcher my first companion.  Oh man those were good times in the CCM.  I also got to see Elder Rupe who has been with me since the start of my mission, oh man I love that guy!  I also got the package with the CTR ring in it thanks tons mama you are the best :).

We also had a baptism of a woman named Yolanda, it was super bakan (cool).  ¡Ay estaaaaamos TA!  It was one of the most spiritual baptisms I have had in all of my mission, and almost everyone started crying.  Our Papito and Mamita played a special number and it was amazing.  Yolanda is super cool and she said that she was looking for the true church and she finally found it here!

Anyways I don´t have a lot of time hahaha, just kidding but I really don´t have anything else.  It was a good week and I hope this week can be just as good.  I hope you can all pray and fast if it´s possible for an investigator that we have named Juaquin, because he almost got baptized last week, but he has some fears.  Please pray for him that he might feel the spirit to know that this is the true church and that he can be baptized this week if it is the Lords will.

Muchas gracias por todo que hacen les amo muchismo y espero que esten bien.  Oh man I just realized that I wrote a whole sentence in Spanish haha it says I love you all and I hope you are doing well.  I will talk to you next week! Take care.

Wow this week was not the best.  Our 3 baptisms fell through, and we couldn´t find anyone that wanted to hear us.  But there´s always next week right

Anyways we had to say goodbye to some missionaries last week which was hard. Wow it feels like I just got here in Chile and now everyone is starting to finish the mission.  Almost all the missionaries I know have been out less time than me now.  Wow how time flies when you are working for the Lord.  I wish I could go back and fix all the mistakes I have made and help even more people here get baptized.

There wasn´t really anything new this week just more of the same.  Elder Bonatti and I are working hard to get a family of 7 baptized but the mom and the daughter are not very interested in our message.  With faith and patience I hope we can help them feel the spirit as well.  The family has gone to church 3 times now and they just need a little more and they will be able to be baptized and sealed in the temple.   I want to invite you all to pray for Ernesto, Jose, and Blass. so that they can be baptized this week.

Anyways I love you all. I miss you all tons I hope you are doing well.  ¡Adios!

Love,
Elder Hirschi

1.  Did you get a new missionary in your apartment?
Yep Elder Alejandro is from Mexico and I actually got to see him start the mission in Iquique.

2.  Have you met some new fun people lately?
Not yet, but we´re working on it hahaha.

3.  Did you ever get the box with the CTR ring in it yet?
I did not but I will let the member know that it should be here this next month.

Hello Family

Wow today went by super fast. I feel like I just got on the computer to email and I already have to go.  Anyways I want to let everyone know how the transfers were first.

I got sent to Alto Hospicio, with Elder Bonatti.  To explain a little better, Alto Hospicio from Iquique It´s like the distance from Washington Fields to St Geroge haha. It´s like 10 minutes away in a car.  I actually went to Iquique today to get money and said hi to Elder Llamas my last companion.  Now I am with a new companion his name is Elder Bonatti.

So Elder Bonatti is from Peru and he is a really cool misionary.  He is like 6 feet tall and he likes to listen to music.  He works really hard and is very humble. We have found lots of people that are really good and want to listen to our message.  In fact we even had another baptism this Saturday of a little kid named Kevin!  It was super cool. I will send a picture, but we are working really hard to keep finding people and teaching them the gospel.  Elder Bonatti and I made a short video so I thought I would send it so you can get a feel of what my sector is kind of like haha.

Anyways, I love you all and hope you are doing well. I will pray for you everyday!

Wow long week

Sooo I haven`t written much in a while and a lot of stuff just happened recently so I will try my best to get it all in!

First of all we had a baptism this last Saturday and her name is Kimberlin and she is super cool! she has 2 kids and they are the cutest kids ever haha.  Kimberlin has had some problems in her life and it was so amazing to see her change her life to follow the Lord.  She is going to be a strong member of the church and I hope we can get her friend Sonia to get baptized as well.

We said goodbye to everyone and it was kind of sad I`m going to miss everyone here in Iquique! We also moved houses and we are now living by our church, but I`m going to be moving agian because, we just got transfers... Drum roll please!  I will be going to Alto Hospicio wow haha.  It`s actaully only 15 minutes away from Iquique and you can see it from Iquique haha.  So really I won`t be going that far haha.  I will have a new companion. His name is Elder Bonati and he is from Peru.  It will be a cool transfer and  I will get to live with Elder Retuta my old companion from the Philippines!  Anyways it`s going to be fun to see him again.

Anyways I miss you guys tons and I really love the mission too.  I don`t want to leave, but  I also want to see you all again. It`s one of those feelings that you can`t decide what you want more.  I love you all tons and I hope you are all doing well. Pray for me in my new sector please!  Take care everyone!
